27 July 2018, Hilden – Advantech, a leading global provider of computing and communications technology and platforms for harsh environments, will showcase its latest developments for the rail sector at InnoTrans in Berlin (18 – 21 September, 2018) on stand 220 in Hall 4.1B. Wide range of new products and solutions based on them, Advantech will also be demonstrating various applications scenarios from current projects.
The product innovations being exhibited in Berlin will include new, modular rail computers (EN50155-certified), which are particularly suitable for passenger information systems (PIS), video surveillance systems or vehicle monitoring, computers for network video recorders (NVR) and video management systems (VMS), Ethernet switches (managed/unmanaged) and industrial routers complete the offer of innovations, LoRaWAN gateway, switches for Ethernet Train Consist (ETC) and Backbone (ETB) networks, and WiFi access points. With the aid of a deep learning architecture developed in-house, Advantech also enables its customers to develop artificial intelligence (AI) for their solutions and to implement it in them. This technology also flows into the innovations that the company will be presenting at InnoTrans in Berlin. Another key theme of the Advantech trade fair presence is the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). Supported by this, companies working in the ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) market can similarly achieve improvements in operational efficiency, reduce costs in production, accelerate processes and realise new business models.
Advantech already possesses a comprehensive portfolio of solutions in several segments of the ITS market: including for PIS (passenger information systems), passenger Wi-Fi, on-board servers (providing real-time information for passengers, such as the train’s location or the available services at the destination), ticket systems in stations, surveillance and CCTV (closed circuit television), Train-to-Ground communications and signaling systems.
