Advantech Launches EtherNet/IP Compatible Switches
Taipei, Taiwan – October, 2016 – Having switches which can communicate directly across a diverse range of machine automation devices is essential. Advantech’s latest EKI-5500/5600-EI series of Industrial Protocol managed switches have been designed to communicate through EtherNet/IP and are ODVA certified to meet the requirements of the Common Industrial Protocol (CIP) for added reassurance.
The EKI-5500/5600-EI series are new generation of Industrial Protocol managed switch products. They are OVDA certified with the faceplate of its software interface integrated with Rockwell FactoryTalk® View. The devices come with a compact metal housing that is IP30 rated to protect against dust filled industrial environments. The wide power input power (8.4 to 52.8 VDC) is dedicated to operating in areas of unstable power and rugged environments.
These 8~16 port Industrial Protocol managed switches are designed specifically for vertical markets and include the most essential functions to seamlessly communicate directly with Rockwell PLCs. Through the integration of Faceplate—a configuration front-end, the EKI-55500/ 5600-EI series can communicate directly with Rockwell FactoryTalk® View SE and ME versions. We also provide Electric DataSheets ( EDS files) to users to seamlessly integrate with Rockwell PLCs.
As you’d expect from an Advantech switch, the EKI-5500/5600-EI series include all the functions needed for successful and easy network configuration. Features such as Ring, VLAN, and SNMP make them especially convenient for setting up a network infrastructure, and with the inclusion of ODVA certification, engineers will find it easier to roll out and configure large numbers of switches that can link with a wide variety of devices in today’s industrial environments.
