Introduction
The AMAX-4800 series comprises industrial EtherCAT slave modules that support the EtherCAT protocol. The module’s compact size and integrated DIN rail mounting kit ensure easy installation in control cabinets. Meanwhile, euro-type pluggable terminal blocks and LED indicators facilitate system setup and maintenance. All modules are protected by an isolation circuit, making them ideal for demanding industrial applications.
The AMAX-4800 series also includes EtherCAT remote terminal modules that feature a high-density channel design for distributed control systems. In addition to providing cost-effective, high-performance computing, the AMAX-4800 series EtherCAT remote terminal modules support diverse I/O interfaces, such as isolated digital input, isolated digital output, photoMOS relay output, and relay contact. Furthermore, the modules can be equipped with an analog input and output module to facilitate data acquisition and device control applications.
Key Features
Compact SizeThe compact module size and high-density channel design offer space savings, while the provision of a DIN rail mounting kit ensures easy installation in control cabinets. |
||
High ExpandabilityAMAX-4800 series modules are capable of supporting up to 65,535 nodes per network segment; consequently, the number of I/O channels is no longer limited by the available PCI/PCIE slots. Additionally, because Ethernet supports a cable length of up to 100 m (300 ft) between two nodes, expensive signal cables are not required, which reduces inter-process communication, simplifies the wiring topology, and lowers overall costs. |
||
Easy MaintenanceThe terminal block, LED indicators, switches, and EtherCAT ports are accessible from the front of the modules, ensuring convenient wiring, testing, debugging, and maintenance. The AMAX-4800 series modules are also equipped with a euro-type pluggable terminal block that allows cabling without screw tools. These features reduce the overall installation and maintenance costs and time. |

Supports SynchronizationThe synchronization time between slave modules is an important parameter for motion control. The AMAX-4800 series EtherCAT modules support distributed clock synchronization for a calibrated time difference of less than 1 microsecond. |
